Little Farm of Calm in the beautiful country VIC in Benalla is the perfect place to connect with nature, get out of your comfort zone and find stillness. A weekend of great food, great people, daily yoga and meditation and a heap of laughs. Ever wanted to try aerial yoga or the infrared sauna? Or maybe you just want to hang out with some cute miniature goats! This country farm stay has everything you need to feel grounded and calm.
There will be long luxurious yoga classes, guided meditation, down time for feeding goats or exploring nature, time for contemplation and delicious locally sourced cuisine.
Each room has an ensuite at the Little Farm of Calm, stay on your own, with your partner or with a friend.
The retreat aims to nourish you body, mind and spirit. A contemplative space for you to reflect, breathe and rejuvenate. At Asha Yoga we love children, but on this retreat, it will be a no children zone. Our prayer is that you will take time away from the kids to focus on YOU and return refreshed and refocused ready to take on the parenting mantle with an increased mental capacity, more peace, more love and more self control.
CLASSES
This retreat will run a little differently, where you can pick and choose as much or as little yoga as suits! Want to do it all? Think morning Vinyasa Yoga, afternoon Yin and evening Aerial Yoga! If the weather is good have laugh while attempting Paddle board Yoga!
We will even make time for some animal therapy feeding the goats and soaking in all the opportunities for connection to nature in this unique farm stay. All classes will be a combination of mindful movement and breath, and suit any level of experience.
A few hours will be dedicated to reflection and contemplation. Silence and unplugging from everything will offer you a chance to journal, reflect and seek stillness.

About Michelle
I noticed the connection between my mental health and my physical body when I injured my back in a rugby accident when I was 17. During the months of recovery I noticed my pain levels were a reflection of how stressed I was. This started a journey of self discovery: what did I need to do to cope with stress? How should I manage my naturally overactive mind?
I have grown up being part of a local church, and have seen people improve their health through different spiritual disciplines. After injuring my spine, I searched for new physical disciplines that would have less impact on my body, and would keep me strong and fit.
When I discovered yoga as an adult it rocked my world. By then I had a special needs child and the demands of a growing family. The connection I experienced in yoga’s practice of movement with breath, and of meditation, gave me a strong connection to God. I experienced peace, and a deep sense of being whole.
I noticed a gentle but gradual recovery from my rugby injury. Yoga became the one hour of the week I could not live without! As a result, I am a better wife, mother, and friend!
I am now passionate about sharing this powerful practice. I transitioned from working in exercise science and personal training to teaching yoga. I love Vinyasa yoga, its fluid movement and its strength gains. I also love Yin yoga; the space it creates for contemplative practice and mindfulness.
I teach from a Christian frame of reference. I have a passion for the environment, for ethical living, and for empowering others to improve their physical, mental and spiritual health. My classes aim to seek greater peace, connection and imagination, together with mindful movement and breath. You can find me in Croydon, Melbourne, Australia.
My Self-compassion practice
Taking regular classes remind me that it’s ok to be who I am and how I am today. I’m stronger I cope with stress better, my back injury is recovering, and I no longer have daily pain.
