Created by Michelle, Asha Yoga is inspired by the mind body connection and the impact of mindful movement, breath and imagination.
Our Teachers
We offer yoga, meditation, aromatherapy, nutrition and other resources as a holistic approach to the whole you, mentally, physically and spiritually. Each class is designed to feel like a sanctuary from the outside world, a place to nourish, refresh and renew.
Michelle Jorna
Asha Yoga Founder, Vinyasa Yoga, Yin Yoga & Meditation teacher
Coming from a background in exercise science and personal training, Michelle discovered the benefits of yoga after a spinal injury. The connection of mental health, physical pain and spirituality started a journey of healing through yoga and meditation. She is passionate about sharing this love of mindful movement, the breath and creating space for contemplation and spiritual connection. Her body positive classes focus on seeking greater peace, rest and awareness of the body.
Michelle has over 15 years experience in the health and fitness industry, personal training and health behavioural research. After publishing her first book ‘Embracing a Healthy Lifestyle’ and women’s health program in 2011 and having her third child, Michelle pursued her love of holistic health through Yoga and Meditation. Completing her 200hr Yoga Teacher Training with YogaFit Australia, she teaches a range of Vinyasa Flow Yoga and meditation classes to beginners, kids, seniors and everybody in between!
Michelle teaches Yoga from a Christian frame of reference and has a passion for the environment, ethical living, and empowering her students to improve their physical, mental and spiritual health. Seeking greater peace, connection and imagination together with mindful movement and breath work. She is based in Croydon, Melbourne.
Jacinta Darlison
Slow Flow, Yin Yoga, Meditation, Pilates
With a background in Personal Training, Jacinta discovered the benefits of yoga and meditation in finding balance and self-care when her children were young. Since her 200hr YTT she has continued to study specialising in Yin, Chair and Restorative Yoga and meditation. Jacinta’s classes celebrate the diversity of a yoga practice and a focus on the importance of keeping active as we age improving flexibility, strength, balance and mobility as well as the psychological benefits of relaxation and meditation.
Tracey McCombe
Vinyasa Yoga, Yin Yoga, Yoga Nidra, Meditation
With a transformative experience of yoga helping her mental and physical health during a tough period Tracey has pursued studying yoga. She teaches Vinyasa, Yin and Yoga Nidra, and believes in empowering students to follow their own path at their individual pace. To modify the physical postures when needed and to honour how they feel in each moment. She teaches from the heart to help her students find peace, contentment, physical fitness and longevity through the practice of asana (physical postures), mindfulness and meditation.
Emma Pennell
Kids Yoga, Vinyasa Yoga, Yin Yoga, Slow Flow Yoga
Emma is a yoga teacher with 5 years teaching experience and more than 20 years of practice. She loves the way yoga enables you to get out of your head and into your body finding inner peace, feeling grounded and connected.She is passionate about teaching kids yoga, initially as a way of helping her own children deal with stress. Emma loves the energy and fun kids bring to class and seeing them learn tools to help them find their calm.
Ryan Chhajed
Vinyasa Yoga, Yin Yoga, Meditation, Yoga Nidra
Ryan is a proud father, exercise junkie and yogi. He loves all types of movement and believes that the yoga mat is a great place to find a sense of contentment, self-awareness, and mind body connection. With a belief that yoga is not a “one size fits all” practice he is passionate about nurturing and encouraging students to discover their own individual yoga journey.
